In advance of Armistice Day (11 November), a timeless and moving tribute to all those – citizens and foreigners alike – who died for our shared freedoms in all the wars over the past century. The human rights doctrine is evolving in directions which were not imaginable a few decades ago, thanks to the sense of duty, courage and imagination of so many dedicated individuals. Many battles have been won. So much remains to be done. This video interpretation of John McCrea’s words is a reminder that we all carry the torch forward and that we should hope to be proud of what we shall be handing over to the next generation
